Wheelchair prescription & modifications
Your Physiotherapist can assist you to find the best wheelchair to meet your needs. This can sometimes be confusing as there are so many options out there !! ... but we are here to help.
Generally this will commence with a full discussion regarding what you require in various settings, including what has been beneficial with your current wheelchair( if you are using one) and what your current and long-term needs may be.
This is then followed by a plinth, “MAT” /postural assessment to ensure a correct fit/feature is obtained along with additional features of a wheelchair to suit your environment.
The physiotherapist will work closely with wheelchair specialists to explore options that will best suit. We are also able to provide assistance with any adaptations that may be needed to your current wheelchair/s if updates are required due to changes in your health or condition eg: provision of growth kits or added features.
We are continually keeping up to date with new options for wheelchair prescription and enjoy seeing the satisfaction of our customers upon delivery of their new ‘wheels.’
Your Physiotherapist will be there from start to finish, ensuring you are happy with your end product and work to trouble shoot any issues that may arise.
Your therapist will explore all options with you, discuss features of each product and link you in for trials with specialist equipment suppliers, whilst guiding you to find the best product to meet your needs.
